at the Twin Cities Chekhov Festival
Please join us for this unique event which includes a reading of Acts One and Two of THREE SISTERS by a talented all Asian American cast, followed by a talk- back discussing the validity of having other cultures performing Chekhov plays. Is this a uniquely white experience? Are the themes highlighted or diminished by having an all Asian American cast? Can Chekhov sustain mixed culture casting the way that Shakespeare has been able to sustain it? These are just a few of the questions that we'll delve into as we explore the resonance of the Russian master's work with an all Asian American perspective.
Featuring a stunning all Asian American cast including: Sun Mee Chomet, Ann Kim, Rose Le Tran, Katie Bradly, Maria Kelly, Kurt Kwan, Sherwin Resurreccion, David Mura, Ethan Xiong, Chau Le and Daniel Le
