Come and drum with us! Your entree into Mu's Taiko Program begins with an Introductory Taiko Workshop or Parent-Child Intro Taiko Classes.

Classes are taught by members of Mu Daiko. All students are invited to perform in Mu's annual taiko student recital, Passing the Beat.

Introductory Classes General Information


Introductory Taiko Class
For adults and youth (ages 13 and above).  Students will be introduced to the history, kata (form), oral learning system, and will learn 2-3 songs.  Students will be eligible to progress to Level 1 upon completion (with instructor's approval).

Parent-Child Introductory Taiko 1 & 2
Parents and children (ages 8-12) learn taiko basics, support one another and have
fun together in an hour-long format designed for both kids and adults.  Home practice sessions will be much more enjoyable when moms/dads and kids work together!
INTRO 1 families are introduced to taiko basics and learn the festival song Matsuri.
INTRO 2 (Pre-requisite: Parent-Child Intro 1) families continue to strengthen their skills and learn the song Renshu.
