
Stacey Peterson
Staff (Office Coordinator, Marketing Manager)Joining the staff at Mu in 2007 as Marketing and Office Coordinator, Stacey Peterson brings with her a commitment to the performing arts both as an administrator and performer. She received Bachelor of Arts degrees magna cum laude in English and Music Theory and Composition from St. Olaf College in 2005, and recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology with first class honors from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. As a musician, she has studied classical flute with Sue Christian and Kay Sahlin, piano with Delores Willi, and Irish flute with Majella Bartley. She has also held the position of principal flute in the prestigious St. Olaf Band, performed in a master class with London Symphony principal flautist Paul Edmund-Davies, and studied and performed with international artists from Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Palestine. An aspiring composer, she has studied composition under Mary Ellen Childs, Peter Hamlin, Timothy Mahr, and Micheal O’Suilleabhain. In addition to her work at Mu, Stacey has recently begun teaching flute and piano to young students in the Twin Cities area, and continues to compose music inspired by her education and interest in music cultures of the world.
