Theater Mu’s 2023/24 Season

While Theater Mu always produces shows from the heart of the Asian and Asian American experience, the shows this year reveal how different—and how universal—these experiences can be, whether we’re looking at the true story of the Kim Loo Sisters or what it’s like for a Korean elementary student to move to America. Our playwrights and writers reflect some of these wide-reaching journeys, too, with mixed heritages, a childhood straddling two countries, and in one case, moving to America from South Korea to pursue a dream.

These four stories cover only a fraction of the experiences in the AAPI diaspora, but as we look at our past seasons—including last year’s Southeast Asian-centered lineup—and plan for our future seasons, we hope to continue uplifting our communities’ voices.
